I don't know about you, but I am excited. 10 months ago we debuted this powerful and unique choreopoem highlighting the issues we as people of African descent experience with our hair at the Gamut Theatre in Harrisburg, PA. This Summer, for one night only, we do it again, although in a different way.

Here's the concrete nitty gritty that I have right now. The date is Monday, June 3rd, at 5:30 PM. The format is a dinner and a show. This will be a highly stylized staged reading of the original production that will be more manageable as we travel to campuses and theatres through out the region.

The audience is The Harrisburg Chapter of the Links, incorporated and multiple Links sisters from a variety of cities. They are meeting here in support of the C.R.O.W.N. Act, making the world a safer place for those of us with naturally kinky, coily, hair.

They are planning a fancy dinner specificly for Links and sister organizations, but there will be an opportunity for other folks to attend just the show.

Where will it be? Stay tuned. I know which location I like the most, but we will know and announce it in a couple of weeks. In the meantime, we are getting the Ancestors dolled up for this. A few months in storage and they aren't so happy! (Help them out by getting something from our Bonfire store: https://www.bonfire.com/store/the-hairstory-collection/)

I know they will be stunning as they promenade onto the stage for another show! So save the date - June 3rd....

BUT THAT IS NOT ALL!

June 17th there will be a press conference at the Capitol Rotunda about issues impacting African Americans, including The C.R.O.W. N. Act. It will be followed with a day of great events, a children's corner, a poetry contest, and all sorts of activities. The cast of HairStory will be there to perform poems from the show once again! This will be about 25 minutes of the production. Believe me it will be dynamic! Right there in the East Wing Rotunda!

So that's the skinny as it stands right now, mid-March. I'm ready to get our new cast into rehearsal mode! I hope you will support us as we become the artistic voice of the movement to end hair texture bias in Pennsylvania. In fact, what you really need is some HairStory Merch, am I right? Check out our

new store. Proceeds go to the production of HairStory. https://www.bonfire.com/store/the-hairstory-collection/
